Kamehameha Career Shadows
Wednesday, January 26th, 2011
So okay, this was kind of a last minute thing right. We got a call sometime last week asking if we could be career shadows and of course we love helping out the community, especially the kids. Anyhow, so today Kamehameha School dropped off 2 students (juniors) with us, Daniel and Chelsea and it was great. We had a chance to go over technical stuff that’s only interesting to the hardcore wanna be photographer and…….then we played……ALOT!
Check out the craziness, cause this is what we do to teach newbies, interns and ourselves new tricks and techniques….we play……ALOT!
Mahalo nui to Kamehameha School’s Keola, Chelsea & Daniel good luck and I can’t wait to see you in the future. So we can play…..ALOT!
Kaimana – Kamehameha Class of 2011
Wednesday, December 29th, 2010Kaimana was a great subject. Apparently he does photography on the side also and just wanted something different for his senior photos. We did a little studio and a little outdoor and we were pleased with both. He got the look and was so photogenic.
Mahalo Kaimana and company!
Check this slide out and you be the judge…did we give him something different?
Kateri – Keaau High Class of 2011
Monday, November 22nd, 2010The thing I love most about what I do is getting to know my clients and those involved. Certain things tend to stand out about each client. With Kateri it was her name and her dimples. I found out her name was Indian and her smiles were contagious. She had the sweetest family and the cutest little brother, we even did some family portraits. Why not right?
Mahalo nui Kateri and family, we enjoyed taking your portraits.
Charles – Pahoa High Class of 2011
Wednesday, November 17th, 2010Ok…here’s the thing, we met Charles at a Huiana Internship Hoike. Charles was the student speaker for the evening, he supposedly lost his speech and was improvising. Well, in his speech he talked about how he could have interned with us at Focal Pointe “BUT IT WAS TOO EASY” so he decided to intern with Waiakea High PE program…yeah I don’t get it either. But, all in all he had panache and we hooked him up with an upgrade to a 6 pose package. He took lots of great photos with the help of his sidekicks. Take your time and read their shirts, it’s hilarious. Thanks Charles for a great time, hope we made a believer out of you =D
Deveney – Pahoa High Class of 2011
Tuesday, November 16th, 2010Coming from Montana and leaving her sister back they had kina hoped to take her senior portraits with water, sand and sun. Duh…Hawaii right? Unfortunately, the day was not as nice as we hoped and this is Hilo, 95% volcanic rock and 5% sand (if even that). It was a typical day in Hilo overcast with a chance of rain, but we made it work. Deveney and her parents climbed rocks, trudged through bushes, mud, and stagnated water (ewww) just to get the photo. With her beautiful smile (and hair) we got some equally beautiful images. Mahalo nui for spending the day with us…we enjoyed the company!
Linda – Hilo High Class of 2011
Tuesday, October 26th, 2010
Whew, there’s so much to say about Linda’s shoot. Her shoot was hard work but well worth it. She came in with all her props in hand and her entourage on hand to make everything just right. It was pretty crazy, she came with an outfit made by her mother, an awa bowl, a fan bought special for her by her brother and a tapa that spanned half of our studio and took nearly 20 minutes to hang up…(thanx Isaiah). But all fun aside, it was all of her personal touches that made her shoot stand out. Mahalo nui to Linda and her ‘ohana for a fabulous shoot!
Ana – Hilo High Class of 2011
Friday, October 8th, 2010Poor Ana, she became the tongan barbie for all the females in the family, four in all I think. Everybody changed earrings, threw on hats, braided hair, changed clothes….it was crazy. But, lucky for Ana, her family made certain her photos reflected how beautiful she is. It was a great shoot. Mahalo guys!
JoAnna – Hilo High Class of 2011
Thursday, October 7th, 2010
JoAnna was one of those girls who just did great in the studio. Of course they come to us shy, but she eventually found her groove and gave us a lot of great photos. Mahalo nui JoAnna.
